In my art I try to capture some of the life that surrounds us.

The texture of botanicals, charming body language that tells a good story, memories of places visited, and interesting items I have found along the way. I paint what I like, and enjoy the relationship my work and I have as we move through our short time together on a canvas.  It’s a “nice working with you, fun while it lasted, sorry for any stress we caused each other” kind of relationship with the canvas and I. Quite simply, I love the whole process, starting with a blank canvas, an idea, and then working my way through transferring it all to sketch and paint. I hope I never lose that fluttery feeling I get when my art speaks to someone enough to hang it in their space. It’s the best when that happens. Commission work is also interesting to me, same process, but with the added enjoyment of working with the thoughts and desires of others. Acrylics are my main medium of choice, but I often join in an educational situation with fellow artists to introduce other mediums into my realm of possibility. I look at the world through the eyes of an artist, constantly mixing colors and creating compositions with everything I see. I paint in my sleep and wreck a lot of clothes forgetting to change before I start.
